Created in the 1872, the Sydenham Basket boasts the art of flower making, first introduced to Belleek by William Henshall in 1867. While the inspiration for this piece still remains a mystery, it is thought that Sydenham Hill in London, home to the Crystal Palace, may have served as the creative impetus.
